Diagnostic Tool (Master’s)

The diagnostic tool comes in a booklet format. It is intended to be used as an analysis performance instrument by fashion and apparel businesses that generate solid textile waste at any scale in their production, sales or post-consumption stage. It incorporates three main categories with its own questions and key criteria.

Category 1: Using responsible raw materials –> 6 questions

Category 2: Creating efficient processes and products –> 1 question

Category 3: Creating conscious relationships –> 3 questions

The key criteria and the questions were based on the analysis of relevant business practices and technical literature. They represent the steps of the way towards sustainable practices for the solid textile waste generation problem – offering indications of what needs to be done in the business practice to build a most efficient sustainable trajectory.

Hence sustainability is a worldwide major trend seen to secure the natural resources for the future generations and wellbeing of all human race, the diagnostic tool envisions to provide more market competitive to the companies. The results can insight guidance to achieve ways of managing the solid textile waste that are less damaging to the environment, people, economy and culture.
